Our student population consists of approximately 530 students. Our building principal is Joseph Rossow. That is a good question! We have many construction projects going on this summer to improve our historic building. The ramps playground is being completed for fall, you will not believe the amazing things being added for all to enjoy. We are also having the roof re-done, the floors in the entire school sanded and re-finished (this has not been done since the school was built!) and new carpet put in some classrooms. The biggest project will be the expansion of the lunch room and kitchen. We are adding 1,000 square feet to our existing space, putting in a full kitchen that will allow for us to have cooked meals everyday. We will also have more salad bar and serving lines to help alleviate some of the congestion. With all of this going on, the school will be closed for the summer, teaching staff return on August 17th. These are all exciting projects that will add to what makes Dowling such a great place to learn.

Teaching staff will return on August 17th. You will receive information on your classroom assignments and our open house that week. If you have not received any information by August 20th, please call the office at 612.668.4410.

Transportation assignments come directly from the transportation office and should arrive anytime between August 10th and August 21st. They will come in the form of a postcard with your bus stop address and your pick up and drop off times. If you do not receive the card by the 19th of August, please contact transportation at 612.668.2300. Remember to be at your bus stop at least 10 minutes before the designated pick up and drop off time, and wait at least 10 minutes after those times. Bus routes take a few weeks to establish a steady routine, so please be patient those first 2 - 3 weeks while our drivers are mastering the route.

Our welcome back open house will be held on Thursday, August 20th from 4 - 6 PM. This gives you the opportunity to meet your teacher, check out your classroom, find your locker, re-connect with friends and bring in your school supplies. We look forward to welcoming you back for the 2015 - 2016 school year!

School supply lists are available for all grades on the left hand side menu. You are welcome to bring your supplies with you to our open house to avoid having to carry them on the first day of school.
