Please consider joining the Dowling Site Council

WE ARE LOOKING FOR MORE PARENT VOICES TO JOIN WITH OUR STAFF TO CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT THAT IS OPEN AND INVITING THROUGH ENRICHMENT AND ENGAGEMENT.

The Dowling Site Council consists of staff, parents, PTO members and Green Team members working together to enrich and engage the Dowling Community through school projects, programs, family involvement and school improvement.

Some examples of projects and programs the council has worked on or continue to work on include:

Designation of our grounds as a School Forest

The planning and building of the upcoming all inclusive ramps playground

The planning and implementation of the updated Auditorium

Creation of family information and engagement nights

Front foyer beautification

Creation of a Dramatic Arts offering, and many other projects that will be worked on by the council this year.

The Council also works on helping to create the school Family Involvement Plan - this is a document that is created by staff and parents that shows what our school is doing to help families become more involved with our school community.

We are looking for new members to become involved in the Council to gain more parent voices on the upcoming year. We meet on the first Friday of every month at 7:30 AM in the Media Center. You do not need to attend every meeting to be involved with the Council. You can choose which area of the Council you would like to participate with, we have much to offer! Please consider joining us and contributing your voice to the leadership of the Dowling Community.

If you have any questions about the Council, please contact Val Ausland at 612-668-4432 or email at valerie.ausland@mpls.k12.mn.us
