Laurel Forshee - First Grade Teacher

I have had the wonderful opportunity to be an elementary teacher for many years.  I taught Second, Third, Fourth Grades and Title I in Greater Northern Minnesota in Frazee, Perham, and Dent for four years.  I moved to Minneapolis where I taught in private schools in Minnetonka and Maple Plain for a total of six years.  I have been in the Minneapolis District  since the 1993 - 1994 school year where I taught Kindergarten at Willard Math Science and Technology Magnet.  Since then, I have taught Kindergarten or First grade at Putnam, Howe, and now Dowling Urban Environmental School.

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota.  My Masters degree in Reading is from Saint Mary's University. I have taken many other classes ranging from Science, Geography, Mathematics, Reading, Brain Research, and Writing from other universities. As you can tell I have a wide variety of interests and I love to learn!

I have spent most of my career teaching First graders and really enjoy being with them everyday. I am thankful to be teaching little ones that are so willing and excited to learn.  It is a joy to be in charge of their learning!
