Maxine teaches physical education and developmental adapted physical education at Dowling. Her program provides a positive movement experience for every child and focuses on developing fundamental skills.

The program introduces traditional sports in an age appropriate format.

 

 

Students participate in a variety of outdoor experiences including skiing and biking. We focus

on fitness and develop healthy habits for life through our annual participation in the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award challenge. Our program also integrates social studies learning and science through dance

units designed to enhance classroom learning. Through Dowling's Arts for Academic Achievement program Maxine collaborates with dance artists and movement educators to enhance student learning.
