I have been a third grade teacher at Dowling since 2003. Prior to joining the staff at Dowling I taught at Longfellow Elementary School. I have worked for the Minneapolis Public Schools since 1992. In addition to third grade, I have taught first grade, second grade, and special education. I received my B.A. from the University of Minnesota Morris with a degree in Elementary Education. I was awarded my M.S. from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a Special Education degree in Specific Learning Disabilities.
I love to travel, garden, read, walk, kayak, and hangout with my family, friends, and pets. Growing up I knew I wanted to be a teacher, vet, or archaeologist and here I am!
My third grade classroom is always busy. We have lots to learn and third graders are ready to do it! On any given day you will find us immersed in Economics, Geography, Citzenship, Ancient Civilizations, Structures of Life, Energy and Matter, Sun, Moon, and Stars, Physics of Sound, Engineering, interesting literature, and mathematical adventures.
