Greetings Dowling families,

I was so hoping to be able to start greeting some of our students in our building by now.  Unfortunately, as you know, the covid-19 pandemic is continuing to grow.  Here in Minnesota, the number of cases and hospitalizations are escalating at an alarming rate.  Because I care about all of you, I want to make sure that you have complete and correct information about covid-19 and how to best protect yourself and your loved ones.   Lots of links below!

I'm getting a lot of questions about WHEN TO TEST, WHEN TO QUARANTINE, AND WHEN TO ISOLATE.   Do you have these questions too?  Helpful information about this is in the link below.

Also - did you know that the state of MN is providing FREE AT-HOME COVID TESTING?  Click on the links below to find out how to get your FREE at-home saliva test DELIVERED TO YOUR HOME.  You'll need to follow the directions to register but it's pretty fast (I did it a few days ago and received my test kit already).  You'll then have a test available and will able to do it from your own home whenever needed.  The turnaround time for results is 24-48 hours after it's received.  If you have insurance, you'll be asked for insurance information.  If you don't have insurance, the state of MN will pay for your kit and testing - there will be no charge to you.  Parents can request a test kit for their each one of their children as well.

Important reminder:  Please do your best to be safe and to keep others safe!

  • STAY HOMESTAY HOME.  STAY HOME. (as much as possible!).
  • Wear a mask anytime you are out in public.  Wear it correctly - fully covering your nose and mouth.
  • AVOID GATHERINGS with people that don't live in your home.  Yes, this is one of the hardest things about covid-19.
  • Social distance - keep at least 6 feet away from people that don't live in your home.  Please know that the 6 foot recommendation is not magical and that covid can spread at distances of even greater than 6 feet in certain conditions.
  • Wash your hands frequently.

Please feel free to call or email me with questions or concerns.

Know that I am so thankful for our Dowling community and want you all to be safe and healthy.

Take care,
