Welcome to First Grade! My name is Bejay Johnson and I have been teaching in the primary grades since 2014. I received my Bachelor's degree, and Master’s degree, in Education from the University of Minnesota--Go Gophers! I have had the pleasure of obtaining the majority of my experience in Minneapolis Public Schools.
I am originally from Minneapolis, but grew up in Maple Grove, MN. I have three sisters—two older, and one younger, and a pet Chihuahua, named Chito (chee-toe). In my free time, I enjoy playing volleyball, tennis, and riding my bike. I also love to travel when I can, and experience new cultures around the world!
I am a firm believer in the power of knowledge and access to education. It is my mission to create a positive, productive, equitable, and engaging learning experience for all learners while maintaining high expectations for all. I believe that ALL children can learn, and do so in many different ways. My practice includes different styles of teaching to ensure successful learning outcomes for all students.
