WELCOME!

Michael Dowling School, Urban Environmental Magnet is a K-5 environmental magnet school. We are an E-STEAM school (Environmental, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) with a GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design) philosophy. Our unique historic school is located on 20+ acres of land along the Mississippi River in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis, and is a DNR (Department of Natural Resources) School Forest site. At Dowling, we provide a balanced, comprehensive program that maximizes each student’s learning.
